Blog EntryEARTHQUAKE AS WE SPEAKSep 29, '06 2:29 PM
for everyone
A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 rattled Trinidad and northern Venezuela today about 9:10am while I was online on Multiply.

No damage or injuries were immediately reported. The tremor swayed buildings in the Trinidadian capital, Port-of-Spain, and some schools were evacuated. The earthquake was centred 26 miles north-west of Port-of-Spain in the Caribbean Sea, according to the USGS.

It was also felt in Grenada, 100 miles north of Trinidad.

A serious aftershock was just felt no more than 2 mins ago rocking us once more swaying buildings and knocking over powerlines in certain areas.

Wow, I am glad you are okay. I have never experienced an earthquake myself.

Thnx Dawn, I've been through a couple but this one was rocking. I was at work when it happened. I was actually online posting my T.A. We ran to the door when I saw dust falling from above, I stopped just in time as part of the roof came crashing down 2 feet in front of me. I drove home check on my Grandmother... she was ok.. she was at the store when it hit and all the stuff came flying off the shelves.
We lost power for a while but we're all safe and sound now. Thnx for the concern.

That was close. Glad to hear you're ok. Wouldn't want anything to happen to our PhotoInspire founder :-D
